With Community Care College, you have the opportunity to either obtain your diploma or continue on and take 10 general education courses and receive your Degree! All of the courses for this program are offered online! You will also have extraordinary access to your instructor via the internet, email, or in person should you live in the area. Also, in addition to attaining either your diploma or Associates Degree, you will also be prepared to sit for the CCA (Certified Coding Associate) through AHIMA.
Upon completion of the program, you will be qualified to find
employment in a variety of different settings including, physician
offices, hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, or even a claims

The medical industry is one of two industry’s not being hurt by the struggling economy, in fact, it is growing. The medical field is a large and diverse pool of highly qualified graduates who do everything from billing and coding to hands of medical procedures. Every level of this industry is growing, and there continues to be a demand for highly qualified employees.
Medical billing and coding specialists are trained in medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, computer software courses, and diagnostic and procedure coding. Qualified graduates continue to be in extreme demand, and salaries are competitive. There has been an essential need for trained professionals that can comply with the Federal guidelines requiring the use of electronic patient records that has ranked medical billing and coding as one of the top 25 fastest growing professions in the country. Technicians with a strong background in medical coding will be in particularly high demand. Changing government regulations and the growth of managed care have increased the amount of paperwork involved in filing insurance claims. Additionally, health care facilities are having some difficulty attracting qualified workers, primarily because employers prefer trained and experienced technicians prepared to work in an increasingly electronic environment with the integration of electronic health records.

- Median annual earnings for medical records and health information technicians in May 2006 was $28,030.
- The middle 50 percent earned between $22,420-$35,990.
- The lowest 10 percent earned less than $19,060.
