Your courses in Massage Therapy will help you achieve master proficiency in Swedish massage as well as a variety of other modalities:
East Asian Spa Treatments
Deep Tissue Massage
Massage Therapists have an important role in the growing fields of preventative healthcare and sports and wellness systems. Trained Massage Therapists provide client’s relief from pain and stress. Professional Massage Therapists can find employment in a variety of facilities from medical offices to beauty salons.
Students in the Massage Therapy program engage in supervised, hands-on training in traditional Swedish massage as well as other modalities, such as hydrotherapy, sports massage, chair massage, reflexology, aromatherapy, lymphatic massage, clinical protocols and therapeutic spa treatments. The Massage Therapy curriculum also covers the anatomy and physiology of the body as it relates to soft tissue injury and treatment. At the end of the program, students are placed in an internship at the on-site massage clinic located at our sister campus, Clary Sage College. This additional real-world training allows students to see clients and put the theory learned in the classroom to practice under the supervision of other professionals.
Students of the Massage Therapy program at Community Care College are prepared to own or manage their own spa or massage business or work in the field in the facility they desire. Graduates are prepared to take the National Massage Exam upon completion of the Massage Therapy program.
